Pre-Thanksgiving Menu this Week-End!
We have been working diligently in the kitchen all week long to put together a great menu for this weekend, seeing that Thanksgiving is right around the corner. I think we actually went a little BANANAS!!!
First up, we got in some HUGE Pork Shanks that were just begging to be paired up with some mashed potatoes and black beans. So we roasted them ever so slowly until they were “fall-off-the-bone” tender. We then created a hearty Black Bean Stew to help balance out the rich red wine brown sauce that is drizzled over the roasted Pork Shank, which just creates a perfect marriage for the Mashed Potatoes. Are you in heaven yet??
Well if that ain’t enough to take you through the pearly gates, then get busy with our latest pasta creation. Penne Pasta tossed with our original in-house made Jerk Sausage, Smoked Bacon, Chinese Bok Choy, and Cherry Tomatoes in a light and spicy cream sauce. Taking the first bite is like detonating an M-80 in your mouth!!! This dish truly is a study in deliciousness, and is already creating a buzz in the dining room. Order it with Ripe’s newest signature drink, the Ripe-Tini. It’s the perfect complement.
Curried Shrimp (or Goat) Roti is back by popular demand. Remember our Roti has Shredded Codfish baked right into the dough, which just makes for an incredible match with the Curried Shrimp. We are beginning to see a lot of orders for it with goat too!
I even saw a pot of SOUP simmering before I left the kitchen. And I know that Brown Stew Snapper is not out of the question tonight. So, we have some serious “stick-to-your-ribs” bickle a cook up inna de cook shop, so gather your little trinkets and make it on down to Ripe tonight and catch a vibe. The bar and the Ipod DJ will be in full swing tonight to get you hopping. The weather is good, you are bored and broke, what better way to spend your weekend than to get loaded close to home. You can practically crawl home from Ripe for ½ the price of Manhattan. And we actually KNOW you, and care that you came!!! Once you get here, you will never Eat, Live or Drink outside of Ripe again!!!!
Ripe Nuh Rah-Tini
Ripe’s newest signature drink makes its debut tonight. Donna invites you to order her newest creation at the bar this evening. She will be serving them at ½ price between 5pm and 7pm, and again between 12am and 1am at the bar only!!! Actually, it made a mini debut last night, while we all sampled it over and over and over again, until we agreed on the perfect mix, the only problem is I am too hung over to remember what it is! But Truss Mi, dem STRONG, and taste GOOD nuh Rahtid!!! This drink is true to its purpose, making friends and dancers of everyone, before the night is out. This includes neighbors, dignitaries, waitresses, and even the kitchen crew!!
