Our not too often on the menu “Oxtail & Beans” will be featured on the menu starting tonight, and for the rest of the week-end. It always sells out early whenever it is offered. Why? Who the hell knows, this business is damn maddening. Ok, we know it TASTES awesome, but why the rush??? Well, whatever the reason is, by overwhelming request, we will have our Ripe’s special Oxtail in our almost now infamous Red Wine Brown Sauce on the menu once again this week-end.
Ofcourse it will be offered with Rice & Peas and Super Ripe Plantains.
It would be a sin not to!---Shame on you to even have to ask!!
So get here early before the Oxtail Express pulls up to the dining room and cleans us out!!!
Skate-in on Thin Ice
I heard rumors of some Skate Fish coming in tomorrow along with our regular Red Snapper order. If it does make it on the menu tonight, you’re gonna have a tough time choosing between that and the Oxtail, ‘cause this fish requires all diners to don a helmet, because the first bite skyrockets you to the MOON!!!
If you have never tried Skate before, here is your chance. I can assure you even if you HAVE had it before, you didn’t have it like this. They call this fish the “Poor Man’s Lobster” because of its shellfish-like texture.
Because of our relationship with our fish guys Mike & Geo, we can assure you that the Skate we serve is in Pristine, SUPER fresh condition, which is a fundamental requirement for excellent preparation of this particular protein. Anything less should be put in the garbage and the idiot preparing it put in JAIL. Do not pass go, do not collect $200!!!

Ripe's Dining Room Closes Early on Saturday Night
Ripe’s dining room will be open from 5pm till 8:30pm this Saturday January 31st. 2009, after which we will be setting up for a private event. The bar will still be open till 12:30am for take-out service, and till the wee hours of the morning for drinks!!!
We apologize for any inconvenience, starvation, or soberness this may cause.
For this reason, we will be offering a Prix Fixe special the very next day, Sunday February 1st, 2009
(yes, we are already in the second month of the year).
