About Ras Tesfa Jamaican born Ras Tesfa migrated to NYC in 1970. A self made entity, the name Ras Tesfa has become synonymous with high caliber works of substance over the years.
From Broadway to the world famous Apollo Theatre he has made his mark upon the stage with stellar performances, so proving himself of star quality and his works, equally as rich as that of the great poet/philosopher Kahil Gibran and the late Bob Marley.
The founder of I-Light Enterprise LLC. - a multifaceted production company - he is also a father of four and has sponsored children from Africa and South America. A firm believer in the concept of One-Love, Ras Tesfa is a Rasta man and a practicing Buddhist. A quote from his newly completed audio book: "I am a Rasta man who is a Christian. One who is a Jew and Muslim as well. A Buddhist who is Hindu, a Sikh who is an Akan and every man acknowledging of The Almighty. yes mine is the faith embracing of all faiths..." - The Soul-Journer
In March of 1980 "Reggae" came to Broadway in which Ras Tesfa earned a role as a member of the ensemble understudy of the main character played by Ras Karbi. His acting ability has since gained him roles in other Broadway productions and in the NBC television's series Law &Order. Dissatisfied with "Reggae" he afterwards wrote and co-produced the 1995 off Broadway musical "Rasta" which received the 1996 AUDELCO AWARD for outstanding production. Since releasing, "The Voice of the Rasta man II" in 2000, he has completed several screenplays and the audio book, "The Soul-Journer". He is currently putting the final touches on the song "World Citizen" which will debut at the United Nations Concert in October and with a clothing line of the same name launching in 2009.
Ras Tesfa is truly a renaissance man.
